About Me . . .

I am enormously curious and passionate about people.

After years of being both a volunteer and volunteer coordinator at many non-profit organizations, I would like to share my experience with leaders who struggle to staff their cause with their most valuable tool . . . the volunteer.

Fear, doubt and lack of confidence are my constant companions.

Often people will tell me that I have something they do not; perhaps more swagger, guts or great hair. They are sure, that unlike me, they will never get people to gravitate to them or their cause. But I am no one extra-ordinary. What I practice daily is effort, bravery, and enthusiasm. Experience and rejection has taught me how to listen and learn instead of seek and lead.

In other words . . . if I can do it, so can you.

What I can do for your organization . . .

Inspiration and ideas come easily . . . taking the next step toward actual action, is tricky.

I can teach your Volunteer Coordinators how to attract generosity, learn the confidence to ask for the time and talent of unpaid people, and make connections through the power of personality, compassion, and patience.

After working in non-profits and with volunteers for over two decades I noticed a need for organizations to reach out to communities, explain their missions, recruit helpers and ask for support.
With first-hand knowledge of the many challenges facing non-profits today and with the thousands of interactions with volunteers and a deep understanding of how they want to contribute to their communities, I started Volunteer Market as a way to give important causes a platform to promote their missions and connect with their valuable supporters.

My hope is that Volunteer Market will be place to find inspiration, information, opportunities and products that will contribute to the success of non-profit causes and help them fulfill their important missions.
